WORK LIFE: HIRING SOMEONE TO HELP YOU QUIT IS PICKING UP
If you’re ever been at a job you couldn’t wait to quit, but didn’t have it in you to pull the trigger as quick as you wanted, you may have wished to hire someone to do it for you. Japan has this covered & the U.S is picking up on it! In Japan, businesses designed to help people resign from their jobs (due to fears of backlash or pressure to stay) are developing big time. This trend has especially grown since the pandemic, as remote work prompted many to reconsider their careers. Japan's work culture often involves long hours and strong loyalty to employers, making resignation sometimes seem disrespectful.

BUSINESS: CULT GAIA LAUNCHES FRAGRANCE
Cult Gaia, a Los Angeles-based fashion brand known for its viral 'It bags', is expanding into the fragrance market with three new scents: Mast, Zan, and Noor. Priced at $228 each, these fragrances are part of the brand's strategy to diversify its product range and create a more immersive brand experience. The launch aligns with Cult Gaia's recent retail expansion and follows the introduction of candles earlier in the year. The fragrance launch is part of a broader strategy to cement Cult Gaia's position as a cross-category contender in the fashion industry, alongside its expansion into ready-to-wear, swimwear, and childrenswear.

LIFESTYLE: A MINI-RETIREMENT NOW INSTEAD OF POST-CAREER
People in their 20s and 30s are taking "microretirements" - extended breaks from their careers to pursue personal goals or travel while they're still physically able to. They aren't aiming to retire early permanently, but rather enjoying periods of freedom throughout their working lives to avoid feeling miserable for consecutive years to then retire later on. While taking career breaks can slow retirement savings growth and potentially delay full retirement, lots of folks argue that the experiences gained are worth the financial trade-offs. To mitigate the impact, financial experts suggest saving more aggressively before and after these breaks.

Set in 1938, the story follows Liesel, a young orphan who is taken in by foster parents Hans and Rosa. Hans discovers Liesel's illiteracy and takes it upon himself to introduce her to the world of reading and writing. As Liesel develops a passion for books, she goes so far as to rescue one from a Nazi book burning. Despite the family's financial struggles, they face greater danger when they provide refuge to a Jewish boy, whose father had previously saved Hans' life.

ON COMPETING: “A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.” — Sensei Ogui

Every journey is our own. Just as each flower grows and blossoms according to its own nature, we should focus on our own growth.
