WELLNESS: HEALTH SHRINKFLATION
The healthcare system is experiencing "shrinkflation," where patients are paying more but receiving less in return. Despite high healthcare spending, we’re facing longer wait times and reduced face-time with clinicians. This is most often happening in primary care and some specialties, with some patients waiting of over two months for appointments. Healthcare providers are struggling to balance patient volumes with staffing shortages, resulting in shortened appointment times and frustrated patients.

WORK LIFE: BUSINESS ETIQUETTE TRAINING — DO YOU NEED IT?
Following the pandemic & the adopted hybrid work arrangements, companies have noticed a shift in etiquette standards, which has led to an increased demand for professional conduct training. The president of the Protocol School of Washington, Pamela Eyring, advises organizations to include etiquette training in onboarding processes and stresses the need for leaders to model professional behavior. It’s a noted trend for younger bosses to be more lenient and allow their employees to “get away” with a bit. Gen Z has quite the desire for authenticity in the workplace, but according to professionals, also should adapt to their organization's culture (while maintaining their individuality).

BUSINESS: NORDSTROM FAMILY BIDS TO TAKE THE COMPANY PRIVATE
The founding family of Nordstrom has made a $3.8 billion bid to take the struggling department store chain private. They offered $23 per share which is their second attempt to revitalize the company away from public scrutiny, after a failed $50 per share bid in 2018. Nordstrom has faced challenges due to changing consumer habits and increased competition from online retailers. There has been a trend of department stores going private to avoid the pressures of public markets and allow for longer-term strategic decisions. Hopefully, after going private, Nordstrom can make some drastic changes to regain growth.

The Way I Love You is that love letter you don’t want to write, but to sing at the top of your lungs. It’s a heartfelt melody thats making it to a lot of folks’ wedding playlist!

👩🏻‍💻 remote work is disappearing slowly but surely

ON CLAIMING YOUR POWER: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? — Marianne Williamson

It’s important to recognize and embrace your inherent power. Challenging the notion that we should shrink from our own potential is a difficult journey to embark on, but quite the destination! Our greatest limitation is often our fear of our own capabilities, rather than any external obstacles.

JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING

EAT: If you’re in Jackson Hole, the Persephone Bakery is a must for coffee, breakfast, or lunch. You can also grab lunch at the Palate which is next to the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Head to The Grill located in the Amangani hotel for a posh breakfast, lunch or dinner.

STAY: For a luxurious stay check out the Four Seasons or The Cloudveil. There is also the Virginain Lodge if you want a cabin-like feel. Gravity Haus is another option located close to the Mountain Resort.

DO: Jackson Hole is beautiful year-round and during fall, there are less crowds. Yellowstone National Park is closely as well as Grand Teton National Park. You can also head to a wildlife safari or go snowmobiling and dog sledding during the winter months. A popular (less physical) activity is riding the tram.
