BUSINESS: LULULEMON IS EXPANDING ITS MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM
Lululemon has expanded its membership program to include wellness offerings from 3rd party fitness and wellness brands. The original program (which launched in 2022) has grown to over 22 million members and now includes "Partner Perks". This expansion is pretty linear with the worldwide growing interest in wellness, and the market is expected to reach $7 trillion by 2025. The new perks added to the membership cover 3 key pillars: Sweat, Fuel, and Restore, with partners including AG1, Oura, Barry's, and Sweetgreen.

FASHION: THE OLD MONEY JACKET TREND
Barn jackets are challenging the dominance of blazers in fall outerwear. Rooted in British aristocratic countryside attire, these jackets are gaining popularity among fashionistas and luxury brands alike. Celebrities and influencers are showcasing versatile styling options, from casual beach outings to sophisticated city looks. This evolution signifies a broader trend in fashion where practical, heritage-inspired pieces are being reinterpreted for modern, diverse contexts.

WORK LIFE: EMPLOYERS WHO DOWNSIZED, NOW WANT THE OPPOSITE
More employers are looking to expand their office space, completely going against the pandemic trend of downsizing + transitioning to hybrid work. According to a recent CBRE survey, ~40% of companies expect to grow their occupied space within the next three years, up from 20% last year. This shift is driven by the realization that current spaces can't adequately accommodate employees on high-attendance days, leading to a lack of conference rooms and focus areas. Companies are reconfiguring their offices to better suit hybrid work needs, with a particular emphasis on creating effective spaces for hybrid meetings.

Natasha (Tash) Oakley is the cofounder of the highly successful brand Monday Swimwear. She provides a candid look at the challenges to build a thriving business. She covers the entire journey, from initial company registration and banking setup to team building and growth strategies. Starting from her living room, she grew this and other ventures into a multi-million dollar enterprise. This book is a must for anyone who wants to start (or has started) their own business.

ON DESIRE: “It's not your lack of time or energy, it's your lack of desire that holds you back.” - Sahil Bloom

Everyone has the same number of hours in a day — it’s a matter of how you choose to use them. If you’re often using lack of time or energy as an excuse for not being able to do something, then perhaps the desire isn’t there.
