BUSINESS: SPIRIT AIRLINES MOVES TOWARDS BANKRUPTCY
Spirit Airlines is preparing for bankruptcy protection after their merger talks with Frontier Airlines fell through. They’re trying to deal with losses and significant debt maturities, including a $1.1 billion bond due within a year. Their shares are expected to plummet more than 60% to $1.19 in after-hours trading. The company's financial pressures are quite evident in its third-quarter performance.

WELLNESS: WHY AM I NOT SORE AFTER A WORKOUT?
The common mantra "no pain, no gain" and has led many to believe that post-workout soreness is essential for progress, but experts say this isn't the case. While Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) is a real phenomenon caused by microscopic muscle damage during exercise, particularly from new or intense activities, it isn't a reliable indicator of workout effectiveness. Instead muscle growth and strength gains can occur without soreness, and consistent moderate exercise that doesn't leave you aching can actually be more beneficial for long-term fitness goals. The absence of soreness often indicates that your body has adapted to the exercise, which is a positive sign of progress.

WORK LIFE: YOUNG DOCS WANT WORK-LIFE BALANCE
A generational divide is emerging in medicine over whether being a doctor is a calling that demands total dedication or a job that should accommodate work-life balance. The younger docs want to push for more sustainable schedules while older physicians are all about maintaining traditional views AKA “thats not the job”. There’s been a shift in the past decade where younger doctors are more likely to work as employees in healthcare systems whereas before, the goal was to start somewhere to move up to their own practices. The debate has practical implications for patient care, with some arguing that less consistent physician availability could impact care quality, while others say that better-rested, less-burned-out doctors will obviously be more attentive.
