FASHION: SUMMER KNITS AND CROCHET TANKS
Summer knits are having a quiet moment—and they deserve a spot in your warm-weather wardrobe. While we usually reach for tanks, tees, and breezy dresses when it’s hot out, lightweight sweaters, crochet tanks, and short-sleeve pullovers are the unsung heroes of summer layering. Perfect for chilly coastal evenings or over-air-conditioned days, these breathable knits add texture, polish, and just the right amount of coverage. Think crochet camis instead of cotton tanks, polo knits for a preppy twist, or slouchy cardigans tossed over swimsuits and skirts. Whether you're into pastel hues, open-weave textures, or minimalist silhouettes, summer sweaters bring an effortlessly chic vibe to even the most heat-proof outfits.

LIFESTYLE: HYROX IS THE NEW THING & IS CHALLENGING CROSSFIT
Hyrox is a fitness style that blends running + functional strength exercises that originated in Germany in 2017, but recently became super popular in the U.S. It’s essentially a mix of intense cardio and full-body resistance training through eight 1,000-meter runs paired with eight standardized exercises like sled pushes, burpee broad jumps, and wall balls. Unlike CrossFit, Hyrox avoids technical lifts and emphasizes accessibility & real-world functional movement instead. Participants can compete solo or in teams, and boy is it a challenge! PS: you don’t need to compete to join in—Hyrox-style workouts are available online or at affiliated gyms.
WELLNESS: THE GUT HEALTH ISSUE THAT GETS MISTAKEN FOR GLUTEN INTOLERANCE
If you’ve dealt with bloating or discomfort after eating bread, odds are you’ve been told that you’re gluten intolerant…but you may not be! Fructan intolerance is a lesser-known digestive issue that’s often mistaken for a gluten intolerance due to the overlapping symptoms like gas, bloating, and diarrhea. Gluten is a protein but fructans are sugar chains found in foods like onions, garlic, wheat, and certain vegetables, and can be difficult to digest without enough of a specific enzyme. This intolerance is also often linked to IBS and other gut health problems, and in order to be diagnosed properly, you pretty much partake in an elimination diet. Treatment typically includes a low-FODMAP diet, food journaling, and slowly reintroducing foods to identify triggers.
All That Life Can Afford is about a young American woman chasing her dreams in London—only to find herself tangled in a world of wealth, lies, and self-reinvention. When Anna lands a job tutoring for an elite British family, she's swept into a life of glamour and privilege that feels like fiction—until the cost of belonging becomes all too real. With sharp insight and aching honesty, this novel explores ambition, identity, and the delicate balance between who we were and who we’re becoming. Fans of coming-of-age stories with heart, grit, and a dash of old-school romance will be hooked.
