TRAVEL: YOUNG AMERICANS ARE SET TO HAVE A SUMMER OF FUN, REGARDLESS OF FINANCIAL COST
European summer is here to stay! A recent study revealed that Gen Z and Millennials are prioritizing summer travel and experiences over financial stability. Despite economic challenges, about 60% of these younger generations plan to travel, with around a third more focused on enjoyment than saving money. Many are willing to take on debt up to $4,000, to fund their summer activities. To finance their plans, young adults are using various methods, including dipping into savings, relying on credit card rewards, and considering buy-now-pay-later options.

LIFESTYLE: IS GHOSTING WHILE DATING EVER OKAY?
Ghosting (abruptly cutting off communication without explanation) has become super common in modern dating. So much so, that there are jokes that come with people going on dates, revolving around getting ghosted. It can actually be more psychologically damaging than straight up rejection, due to uncertainty. The only reason you should seriously ghost anyone is if they’re a threat to you, portray aggressive behavior, or violate your boundaries. If the motivation is simply to avoid an uncomfortable conversation, it's kinder + more efficient to be candid rather than going MIA.

FASHION: YOU CAN’T KILL COACH
Coach has experienced a resurgence in popularity since 2020. The brand, which was once synonymous with luxury in the late '90s and early 2000s, faced declining interest and profits in the 2010s due to high prices, competition, and changing consumer preferences. However, a strategic rebranding effort has revitalized Coach's appeal, particularly among younger generations. With social media marketing, collaborating with celebrities, and introducing trendy designs, Coach has successfully rekindled interest in its products. This transformation has led to significant financial gains, with Coach reporting $1.54 billion in revenue for the second quarter of 2024, a 7% increase from the previous year. While the brand's comeback has been impressive, some analysts question whether this popularity will last.

ON SELF CARE: Self-care is not selfish. You cannot serve from an empty vessel. — Eleanor Brownn

It’s so important to take care of yourself. There is this notion that prioritizing your own well-being is selfish or indulgent, but it’s essential for being able to help and support others effectively.

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

EAT: The best coffee shop…Mr. West — this is a must if you’re in Seattle. Visit Archipelago for Pacific Northwest cuisine through progressive Filipino American flavors. You’ll want to make reservations for dinner. Another dinner option for Mediterranean food is Homer — they don’t take reservations, walk-ins only. For the best cocktails ever, visit Bathtub Gin & Co where they offer Prohibition-era cocktails & international gin menu in the basement boiler room of a former hotel.

STAY: For a 5-star hotel experience, you’ll want to stay at the Four Seasons where they have rooms that overlook the bay. The Thompson hotel also has views. However, to get the real vibe of Seattle an AirBnB might be the best option.

DO: When you’re in Seattle, being in nature is a no-brainer. Head to Discovery Park which offers 534 acres of natural area. There are tidal beaches and many trails. For views of the city, book a sunset sailing cruise. For shopping, visit University Village.
