BEAUTY: HOW TO NOT MESS UP AT-HOME HAIR COLOR
Yes DIY projects seem fun but at-home hair coloring requires careful consideration and big-time guidance from professionals (& yes, they’ll probably judge you for it). If you’re looking to cover grays, the key is matching your natural base color. You do this through examining the hair at the nape of your neck by taking well-lit photos of it. It’s also recommended that if you’re doing a full-head color, you should choose a shade slightly lighter than what you think + consider your skin's undertones — cool or warm. Overall, professionals recommend: protective gloves, old clothes (for staining), color-protecting hair care products, and a good brush.

FASHION: THESE WILL BE THE MOST KNOWN BRANDS IN 2025
Several brands are emerging as players, offering everything from elevated basics to sustainable luxury. Some names include Veronica de Piante's cross-generational Italian craftsmanship, RĂłhe's Amsterdam-based minimal aesthetic, and Bettter's innovative upcycled tailoring. Maria McManus continues to impress with eco-conscious luxury, while heritage brands like Tod's and Ralph Lauren are experiencing exciting revivals. The Row maintains its position as an industry leader in quiet luxury, while Scandinavian labels Toteme and Lisa Yang excel in sophisticated minimalism. Rounding out the list is Loulou de Saison, bringing authentic Parisian simplicity to everyday essentials.

WELLNESS: DID DRY JANUARY AND NOW BACK TO CONSUMPTION?
January is over which means so is dry January! If you partake in this annual trend, then you may either find it to be life-changing enough to quit drinking permanently (or keeping it to very special occasions), or return to alcohol consumption after the 31st of Jan. According to Dr. Henry Kranzler and other specialists, a month-long break can significantly reduce alcohol tolerance, especially for regular drinkers, making the effects of alcohol more pronounced when reintroducing it. There's also a risk of overconsumption when returning to alcohol (similar to overeating after a restrictive diet), which is pretty much counteractive. It’s recommended that instead of viewing dry January as a temporary fix, you use it as an opportunity to reset and develop more mindful drinking habits long-term, potentially maintaining a moderate approach that might involve drinking less frequently or in fewer occurrences.
