WELLNESS: YOU MAY NOT BE EATING ENOUGH CARBS
Despite carbs being pretty criticized since the ‘80s diet culture (+ the huge keto trend not too long ago), it’s important to know that they’re actually essential to your body. Carbs serve as macronutrients that become your body's main source of energy, AKA fuel — for both brain and muscle function. Carbs come in two main forms: simple (like in sweets and white pasta) and complex (found in whole grains, pulses, and starchy vegetables). Of the two, complex carbs provide more sustained energy and additional nutritional benefits like fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Not eating enough carbs can lead to various negative effects including fatigue, brain fog, difficulties with working out, digestive issues, and unstable blood sugar levels, which is why health experts recommend that starchy complex carbs should make up about 1/3 of your daily food intake.

BEAUTY: ‘BLONZING’ FOR A WINTER SUN-KISSED GLOW
The latest #BeautyTok makeup trend, "blonzing," combines bronzer and blush to create a sun-kissed glow throughout the year. By applying bronzer first and then blush along the cheekbones and forehead, you can achieve a natural, dimensional look. Makeup artists recommend using a warm-toned blush in the same format (powder, liquid, or cream) and applying it with a makeup brush to avoid an intense result. The trend, which emerged from social media, offers an easy way to maintain a tanned appearance, even during winter months, by adding depth and warmth to your complexion.

TRAVEL: YOU HAVEN’T “GLAMPED” UNTIL YOU’VE EXPERIENCED THIS
NASCAR has introduced a "glamping lite" experience at Phoenix Raceway. They’re offering furnished canvas tents for the fans who want to sleep at the track without the hassle of bringing their own RV + camping equipment. The pop-up campsite features 15 cream-colored tents equipped with queen-size platform beds, propane heaters, lanterns, and portable chargers, although it's notably "off-grid" with no water or power (plus shared portable toilets & no cooking facilities). The location provides convenient access to the races and creates a unique community atmosphere among enthusiasts. Cold nighttime temperatures being <40º, generator noises, and the lack of privacy sure can be a turn off but if you’re an experience person, this is the middle ground between traditional camping and luxury glamping.

Friends Kathy (Carey Mulligan), Tommy (Andrew Garfield) and Ruth (Keira Knightley) grow up together at a seemingly idyllic boarding school in the English countryside. When they leave the school and the horrible truth of their true purpose is revealed to them, they must simultaneously confront deep-seated feelings of love, jealousy and betrayal that threaten to tear their friendship asunder.

ON DISCERNMENT: "Advice is one thing that is freely given away, but watch that you only take what is worth having." - George Clason

Nowadays, especially with social media, everyone thinks that they have great advice to give. It’s important to make a judgement whether the advice is coming from a reputable source (which isn’t always your bff).

Although it may seem like a tedious or messy task, gardening has its way of slowing you down. Whether you have a green thumb or not, being outside and getting involved in a garden, activates your parasympathetic nervous system. It literally relaxes you!
