WORK LIFE: CAN EMPLOYEE BURNOUT BE FIXED?
Burnout can have a lot of noticeable signs such as decreased work performance, tardiness, and low energy, and from these… come severe consequences like employees quitting without notice or conflicts between team members. A lot of times it’s seen as a “personal problem” but experts say it’s a mismatch between the demands of the job and the resources available to the employee. Addressing burnout requires a collaborative, proactive approach from management to better manage workloads, workflows, and provide the necessary resources for employees to do their jobs effectively.

WEALTH: FINTECH APPS CREATED FOR WOMEN
The financial industry is overlooking a significant opportunity by not adequately serving women, resulting in a staggering $700 billion revenue loss. Less than a third of fintech companies are tailoring their products specifically for women, even though they collect gender-based data. To address this, women entrepreneurs in fintech are creating solutions that cater to women's financial needs. There are 17 such fintech apps, including Ellevest, CreditRich, Tala, Alinea Invest, Frich, CHIP, Aura, Plenty, Sequin, WealthMeUp, Knomee, Zumma Financial, and Mongo App. These startups focus on various aspects of women's financial lives, from investing and credit building to financial literacy and couples' wealth management.

BUSINESS: JUDGE TOSSES FTC BAN ON NONCOMPETE
Ada Brown, a federal judge in Texas, struck down an FTC (Federal Trade Commission) regulation banning noncompete agreements, with an argument that the FTC's power to police unfair competition methods, doesn't extend to issuing broad regulations prohibiting entire categories of conduct. The FTC responded that noncompete clauses limit labor competition and result in lower pay/benefits. Businesses normally use these agreements to protect intellectual property and investments, but with them not being enforceable, you could pretty much go work for the direct competition and no one could say anything. A ban would boost earnings since the limitations won’t be there.
