TRAVEL: THIS DESIGNER SAYS CHECKED BAGS ARE THE WAY TO GO
As the designer of an Italian shoe brand, Jamie Haller frequently travels between Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and Italy to oversee growing business. She savors moments of solo travel such as margaritas and nachos pre-boarding. Haller actually prefers checking bags to avoid carrying anything altogether, relishing the freedom of hands-free travel. She also says the only few things she carries in her carry on are her laptop + all cords, a Kindle (despite never reading), a moisturizer, and medication for her thyroid.

WELLNESS: THE CLUES TO WHY YOUNG PEOPLE ARE AGING
Gen Z looks older than previous generations according to social media, and while this is subjective, some research suggests there may be truth to accelerated aging in younger folk. Studies have found that cancer rates have risen and this could be due to factors like diet, environment and stress, and this of course contributes to aging on a cellular level. Certain types of cancer β especially lung, gastrointestinal and uterine β are more likely linked to accelerated aging.
BEAUTY: INSIDE BEAUTYβS BIGGEST DISRUPTOR
E.l.f. Cosmetics pioneered the idea of affordable $1 makeup products sold directly to consumers back in 2004. The digitally-savvy brand rapidly grew, going public in 2016 valued at $1.1 billion, and having secured 22 retail stores and a slew of US partnerships with Target, Walmart and more. By late 2022, it blew over Revlon as the 4th largest mass makeup company in the U.S.
This novel is rooted in the authorβs own family history about a long-awaited trip to Sicily, a disputed inheritance, and a family secret that some will kill to protect.

ON WISDOM: In life, all good things come hard, but wisdom is the hardest to come by. β LUCILLE BALL
Wisdom allows you to navigate complex situations with nuance and make decisions that consider the bigger picture + potential consequences. Developing wisdom takes time, an open mind, and a willingness to evolve your thinking as you encounter new experiences and ideas.
