BEAUTY: THE MINIMALIST BEAUTY MOVEMENT
One of the biggest changes post-pandemic took place in the beauty industry with people truly feeding into the idea of “less is more”. Conscious consumers are driving a minimalist beauty movement focused on streamlined, multitasking products with natural active ingredients that are effective, sustainable, and cost-efficient (think multi-use items that double up as blush and eyeshadow). They prioritize clean formulas, neutral clean-aesthetic packaging, and reducing waste overall.

LIFESTYLE: COACHELLA JUST ANOTHER CONCERT
Coachella starts this weekend and the hype may be dying down because when the tickets went on sale, they didn’t sell out immediately (which is usually the case). Influencers would craze over the event and share it on their socials but that seemed to decrease as well. Revolve festival at Coachella is also only 1 day vs the usual 2.

WORK LIFE: DO YOU HAVE A FAKE EMAIL JOB?
A lot of people are calling the remote jobs that require very little actual work or oversight, “fake email jobs”. At first, coming into these jobs from a previous high stress environment feels great because you finally feel a work-life balance, but the lack of purpose or sense of direction (AKA feeling like a robot for 8 hrs/day) has a lot of them feeling like its soul sucking. A psychologist, Goali Saedi Bocci, actually even noted that these jobs can be the ideal temporary relief from burnout but shortly after can cause major mood disorders.

ON MINIMALISM: “Less is more” — MIES VAN DER ROHE

Sometimes in order to perfect something, you need to keep it absolutely minimal; this way it’s so well done that it can’t be reduced anymore. The less you have, the more you’re able to focus on what truly matters. The more you have, whether it be tangible items, emotional baggage, or clothes, the less clarity (+ increased stress) you experience. Having only what is necessary and efficient makes things as simple as possible.

Sometimes you don’t watch to film a movie but prefer to have it in the background. For Harry Potter fans, there is no better soundtrack than this to listen to while working. It’s a mix of calm and magic.
